Ted Pelling P. Eng. Mr. Pressure Boundary

Ted has over 30 years of experience in the design, construction and quality assurance of Pressure Boundary items for nuclear and fossil fired power plantsHis experience was gained through the extensive involvement with various engineering projects, such as PWR and CANDU reactors, steam generators, pressure vessels, piping systems, equipments, etc.  For over 25 of these years Ted has had a high level of involvement working on CANDU nuclear power plants.  Ted has participated in the development of regulatory strategies, regulations and power reactor operating license conditions through his liaison with the Canadian Regulatory bodies.  During this time, Ted also led a team of professionals in developing and implementing a Quality Assurance program for the design, fabrication and installation of both nuclear and conventional piping and components, which led to the 1st Certificate of Authorization being issued to a Canadian Utility.

As a member and past chair of the CSA N285A Technical Committee, Ted has forged the basis of the requirements for the refurbishment of existing and future new CANDU nuclear power plants.  Ted has also served as a contributing member of the CSA Nuclear Strategic Steering Committee, ASME, Section III, Working Group - Design of Vessels and the Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA), Boilers and Pressure Vessels Advisory Council.  Through his involvement in the TSSA Advisory Council, Ted has contributed to revisions of the Ontario Technical Standards and Safety Act, Boilers and Pressure Vessels Regulations and Code Adoption document.  

Ted was the recipient of CSA 2010 Award of Merit in recognition of his valued involvement, influential leadership and technical expertise in the development, and advancement of the Nuclear Standards.
